On-Site Mechanical / Electrical Drafter
InterLink Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Designer / CAD Technician to support a customer assignment on-site near Chandler Blvd. and I-10. The primary focus will be detailing drawings in SolidWorks from completed manufacturing equipment models and assisting with AutoCAD electrical schematic and cable drawing work. This is anticipated to be a full-time, 3-month project-based role, with the goal of further long-term work following completion of the project at the InterLink office, depending on performance and available company workload.
Responsibilities:
Create and detail SolidWorks drawings based on completed manufacturing equipment models under the guidance of the customer’s design team
Collaborate and keep projects confidential within a team
Create electrical schematics under the guidance of the customer’s electrical/systems lead
Create cable drawings and related electrical documentation as project needs require
Coordinate with the customer’s mechanical, electrical, and systems teams to clarify requirements, revise drawings, and maintain project accuracy
Physical Requirements:
Communicate effectively in spoken and written English (Constantly)
Sit for long periods of time (Frequently)
Operate computer and CAD system efficiently (Frequently)
Required Characteristics:
Demonstrated proficiency in SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM, and AutoCAD
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and across departments to progress projects
Capable of tolerance stacks and analysis with understanding of ASME Y14.100 and ASME-Y14.5 GD&T drawing and tolerance standards
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a production environment
Helpful, get-it-done attitude to find and solve problems on behalf of InterLink
Engineering
Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field, or equivalent experience
Local, Greater Phoenix resident with reliable transportation
Proficient in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Preferred Characteristics:
Knowledge of Lean practices
Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience building prototypes and using hand and power tools
Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP)
Certified in ASME Y14.100 and ASME-Y14.5 GD&T drawing and tolerance standards
Motivated self-starter with the ability to learn quickly
