PHX SWUG

SolidWorks, a leading Computer-Aided Design software, sponsors a network of “User Groups” around the world where like-minded creators gather to learn new things about and discuss the intricacies of the software and modeling projects with each other.

These gatherings go beyond technical discussions, encouraging long-term relationships and networks among peers who share a passion for design and engineering. SolidWorks User Groups provide invaluable opportunities for professional development and camaraderie, whether by sparking new ideas, solving common problems, or simply connecting with other enthusiasts.

What It’s Like

Our meetings are held in a hybrid format, typically hosting 5-15 participants online and 20-30 in person, a number that continues to grow with each meeting. Also growing are the variety of hosts, including maker spaces, machine shops, and educational facilities, along with professional office spaces, like InterLink.

These gatherings combine virtual and in-person engagement, with refreshments and giveaways. We're excited to provide enriching experiences in a variety of locations, with a focus on broadening our reach and featuring diverse presenters. While we generally adhere to the schedule outlined below, we prioritize tailoring each meeting to our host's preferences, including any specific presentations they wish to deliver in addition to their hosting duties.

Hybrid at a Phoenix location & via Zoom:

  • 5:00 pm - Soft open for food and networking

  • 5:15 - 5:30 – Tips & Tricks

  • 5:35 - 6:05 – Presentation 1

When Do Meetings Happen?
We plan four local meetings per year, aiming for the second month of each quarter but accommodating seasonal holidays, local school or game schedules, and SolidWorks educational sessions when possible.

What’s Discussed?
At our Phoenix Metro SolidWorks User Group, our goal is to explore a diverse range of software-related topics, delivered by seasoned experts. This could include insights into the latest software updates from a proficient Value-Added Reseller, practical methodologies shared by experienced professionals in the field, or in-depth explorations of lesser-known software features provided by local professors.

Attendee Benefits
In addition to the valuable SolidWorks knowledge provided at Phoenix Metro SolidWorks User Group events, which keep attendees at the forefront of SolidWorks innovations, these events are a great place to network with like-minded SolidWorks enthusiasts, engineers, designers, and design experts, across a variety of industries.

Thanks to SolidWorks' sponsorship, we can also offer a selection of refreshments to all in-person participants, enhancing the enjoyment of presentations. In addition, we hold raffles for attendees, featuring prizes ranging from hats to exciting electronics and beyond!

Sponsor Benefits
The Phoenix SolidWorks User Group relies entirely on volunteers, and it's through sponsorship that our group thrives! By contributing funds, presenting, or hosting, you and your brand gain exposure to a targeted audience within the Phoenix community, including industry leaders, ambitious engineers, and seasoned designers, at our upcoming events.

Our sponsorship package offers a range of promotional opportunities leading up to and during the event:

  • Email Features: Your brand will be prominently showcased in a minimum of three pre-event promotional emails sent to our extensive network of SolidWorks professionals, and enthusiasts.

  • Social Media Recognition: We will acknowledge your sponsorship in at least three posts across our official channels.

  • Event Acknowledgment: Your brand will be mentioned at least twice during the event, ensuring continued visibility for your company among attendees.

Share Your Space
Group members come from all over the Valley, so we can be flexible on location so long as the space can physically accommodate. Because presentations are software-related and we keep our meetings hybrid, the space must be able to accommodate an electronic presentation, such as a large TV or projector, in addition to an in-person audience (at least 20 chairs).

Hosts are also encouraged to give tours and talk about their location, but this is not required. Interested in sharing your space? Email us at SolidWorksPhoenix@gmail.com

The Phoenix SolidWorks User Group provides a dynamic forum for design and engineering professionals to meet, exchange ideas, and make connections. Beyond technical discussions, these gatherings promote camaraderie and support, providing attendees with a variety of perspectives and experiences. Meetings are tailored to the specific needs of hosts and participants, ensuring engagement and relevance. SolidWorks' sponsorship enhances the experience by allowing organizers to provide amenities and opportunities for interaction, improving the value of these events. In essence, the Phoenix SolidWorks User Group is a vital tool for professional development and community building in the local design and engineering community.
