PHX SWUG Is Expanding: More Meetups and New Virtual Sessions
PHX SWUG has always been about creating a space where SOLIDWORKS users can learn from each other, ask questions, and share real-world experience. Lately, we’ve been thinking about how to build on that and create more opportunities for people to be part of it.
What is a SOLIDWORKS User Group(SWUG)?
If you’re new to SWUG, here’s a quick overview.
A SOLIDWORKS User Group (SWUG) is a community of engineers, designers, and CAD users who come together to learn, share knowledge, and improve their skills.
The PHX SWUG is the Phoenix Metro chapter, hosted by InterLink Engineering.
Our sessions are focused on:
Real-world SOLIDWORKS workflows
Practical design tips
Open Q&A and discussion
Connecting with other engineers and designers
It’s not a lecture, and it’s not a sales pitch. It’s a space to learn, collaborate, and grow alongside others who are doing the same kind of work.
What You Get Out of SWUG
Sometimes it’s a new shortcut that saves you time the rest of the week.
Sometimes it’s hearing how someone else solved a problem you’ve been stuck on.
And sometimes it’s just having a space where you can ask a question and get a real answer from people who understand what you’re working on.
That’s what SWUG is about.
We Heard You… So We’re Expanding PHX SWUG
If you’ve been part of the PHX SWUG (Phoenix Metro SOLIDWORKS User Group) community, you already know how valuable these sessions can be.
And if you’ve ever thought, “I wish there were more of these…”
We heard you.
So we’ve expanded.
More SWUG Meetups More Ways to Join
We’re adding more SOLIDWORKS User Group (SWUG) meetups to the calendar, including a new format we’re really excited about.
Alongside our in-person events, we’re introducing shorter, fully virtual SWUG sessions throughout the year.
These sessions are designed to be:
Easier to attend:
No commute
A quick hour during the day
More focused on one topic
More hands-on
Each meetup will center around a single SOLIDWORKS or design topic, giving the ability to dive deeper and focus on maximum understanding.
And just as important, we’re leaving space for open discussion and real questions, because that’s where a lot of the best learning happens. If you have a question about something you've been working on, we can pull up SOLIDWORKS and troubleshoot together.
Why We’re Expanding SWUG
We’ve seen how valuable these meetups are, not just for learning, but for connection.
Engineers don’t always have a space to ask questions, talk through challenges, or share ideas with others who understand the work. That’s what SWUG provides.
By adding more meetups and introducing virtual sessions, we’re creating more opportunities to:
Join more often
Stay consistent with learning
Get help when you’re stuck
Stay connected with the engineering community
Same community. Just more opportunities to be part of it.
Keep Learning Between Sessions
Can’t make every meetup or want to revisit past topics?
We share recordings from PHX SWUG on our YouTube channel so you can catch up on sessions, revisit tips, and keep learning between events.
It’s a simple way to stay connected, even when you can’t join live.
We recently hosted our first fully virtual PHX SWUG session, and it gave us a great look at how this new format can work.
The session focused on Design for Manufacturing, along with open discussion and time for questions. It was a simple, focused way to connect and learn without needing to be in the room.
If you missed it or want to revisit the conversation, you can watch the full session below.
Join the PHX SWUG Community
Whether you’ve attended before or you’re completely new, this is a great time to jump in.
We’ve got more sessions, more focused topics, and more chances to connect.
You can find upcoming events and join the community at Phoenix Metro SOLIDWORKS User Group.
We’d love to see you there.
